Over the past 20 years, fear of osteoporosis has spread
like wildfire in the US. And since bones are made mostly
of calcium, it's been the perfect opportunity for the drug
companies and the dairy industry to cash in big time.
We're barraged with ads for calcium supplements from all
directions, as well as "Drink milk. It does a body good."
ads from celebrities with painted-on milk moustaches.
But if lack of calcium was the problem, then why would
people in the US, a country where we eat more dairy
products and gulp more calcium supplements than anywhere on
the planet, have a HIGHER rate of osteoporosis than
anywhere else in the world?
And why would people in less-developed countries that eat
little or no dairy products and get far less total calcium
than we do have much LOWER rates of osteoporosis?
Lack of calcium isn't the problem.
The problem is your body not being able to use the calcium
it has to keep your bones strong.
And that's caused by a body that's acidic.
If your diet is creating an acidic environment in your
body...if you are not doing what I teach in Great Taste No
Pain, you are just begging for osteoporosis and arthritis.
Your body is slightly alkaline by design, so when it's
bombarded with all that acid it neutralizes it by sapping
calcium, potassium, magnesium and sodium from your bones
and vital organs.
In the US, we have more osteoporosis than anywhere else
because we're acidic as hell.
Our bodies are literally sucking away their own minerals
from our bones (and organs) to fight the daily onslaught of
acid.
And we're unable to get any benefit from calcium
supplements we take because they're used up in the battle
against acid too.
Listen, if you want the best prevention for osteoporosis,
get rid of the acid in your system.
