I went for my dental checkup today and mentioned to the
dentist that my husband had stopped taking Prilosec and no
longer has reflux. He was startled and asked how he'd done

of his patients. He said one person came in with no
cavities, and six months later had 12, caused by reflux.
Thought this might be worth a mention in a newsletter--one
more reason to rid yourself of reflux AND Prilosec!

SB: Judy, thanks so much for reminding me of such an
important point.
And it just so happens that I had a dentist's appointment
today, so I asked my dentist about acid reflux and teeth.
He said that hands down, he can tell which of his patients
have acid reflux by their teeth because he sees enamel
erosion (rotting) on the surfaces of the teeth that are
closest to the tongue (the lingual surface).
He's even diagnosed acid reflux for patients that didn't
know they had it! Apparently they were getting acid
sliding up their throats and into their mouths while
sleeping, but had no heartburn or other symptoms during the
day. He could tell what was happening by looking at their
teeth.
As Judy says, this is yet another reason to rid yourself
of acid reflux AND Prilosec.
I include Prilosec in what to rid yourself of because it
doesn't eliminate the root cause of acid reflux--it's just
a band aid...and many times not a very effective one at that.
If you don't eliminate the true cause of acid reflux, it
will continue to plague you--no matter how many more PPI's
or H2 blockers the pharmaceutical giants can pump out.
Plus some of the side effects of Prilosec are nausea,
vomiting and regurgitation--MORE acid coming up into the
mouth from the drug that's supposed to stop the acid to
begin with!
So my friend, if acid reflux is a problem, 'tis time to
get off the endless cycle of drugs once and for all.

Hi Sherry,
I had acid reflux for many years. My doctor prescribed
Pariet (a proton pump inhibitor). About 2 months ago the
tablets stopped working, so I was then prescribed Nexium
which seem to make my symptoms worse.
One night the burning was so intense I thought I was going
to die. I was unable to eat anything, and even a glass of
water burned my colon.
I decided to see a different Doctor and he thought I did
not have acid reflux but perhaps diverticulitis and
prescribed Colese (an IBS drug). My CT scan came back
negative, but still the burning continued.
I have been following your advice and what a relief to
feel normal again. I have not had any medication since and
have lost w-eight.

was, the second doctor can only think to give drugs...
