I got a great question this morning from a client named
Wendy who asked: Does Great Taste No Pain work for thyroid
problems?
The answer: Does water put out a brush fire?
Like all glands in the body, the thyroid gland cannot
function efficiently in an acid environment--it must have
an alkaline environment to operate properly.
And the thyroid is NOT a gland that you want to be under
stress because it basically controls how ALL your body's
cells function.
Here's what I mean:
The function of the thyroid gland is to take iodine found
in our foods and convert it into thyroid hormones--
thyroxine (T4) and triiodothyronine (T3).
T3 and T4 are then released into the blood stream and are
transported throughout the body where they control our
metabolism (how our cells convert oxygen and calories into
energy).
Every single cell in our bodies depends on thyroid
hormones to regulate their metabolism...in other words, to
help them reproduce, grow and live.
And thyroid cells are the ONLY cells in the body which can
absorb iodine, so if it can't do its job...
...that means trouble for the entire body.
This includes the brain. The iodine in the thyroid
assists in eliminating toxic wastes that can go into the
brain.
The two most common forms of thyroid malfunctioning are
HYPERthyroidism (where the thyroid releases too much T3 and
T4 into the bloodstream) and HYPOthyroidism, where too
little thyroid hormones are produced.
HYPERthyroidism causes the body to use up energy more
quickly than it should, and metabolism in the cells speeds
up.
It can cause nervousness, irritability, increased
perspiration, intolerance to heat, fatigue, difficulty
sleeping, a fast heartbeat, irregular menstrual periods
and muscle weakness.
With HYPOthyroidism, on the other hand, the body uses up
energy more slowly, and metabolism in the cells slows down.
People with this condition feel depressed and sluggish.
They gain weight easily, have muscle weakness, dry skin,
hair loss, poor memory and difficulty concentrating.
Either way, having a malfunctioning thyroid is not a
pretty picture and affects your whole body in nasty ways.
And just like ANY area of the body when it's acidic,
tumors (both benign and cancerous) can form on the thyroid.
Tumors thrive like dandelions in an acidic body, and the
thyroid is no exception.
So having a healthy thyroid is yet another important
reason added to the huge mountain of reasons to reach and
maintain an alkaline pH.
Lots of alkaline foods. Positively delicious meals every
single day. Plus great combinations of foods to keep that
acid low, low, low and your pH high, high, high.
Plus, many people suffer from conditions that they don't
even know are caused or worsened by acid. Great Taste No
Pain teaches you how acidity affects your entire body and
how much better you can feel once you become more alkaline.
Use it and see the wonderful changes it can bring about in
YOU.
To your health,

PS: Anne is now pain free from diverticulitis:

Sherry:
You are a God send!
My doctor had told me that I had diverticulitis once
before when I ran to his office with a horrific pain in my
left side. He then gave me antibiotics and sent me home
saying, "The pain will subside in 2 or 3 days. Don't worry
about it."
I did not realize then this was something that would come
back from time to time.
It did come back with fury one weekend when the doctor was
not in. I was lucky enough to have researched about this
disease and stumbled on your site.
Since then, I have been following the Great Taste No Pain
plan and to my surprise I now have regular bowel movements
with no staining and am now pain free.
