Today you'll get to know a different side of me...The
martial arts side.
I've been practicing karate for over 5 years and am a
first degree black belt in Okinawan Goju-Ryu. (Second
degree and the title of "Sensei" is coming next year.)
I started at age 41--an age where most people would think
they're too old or could never do it.
Those excuses are not allowed to enter my mind.
My teacher is a 7th degree master instructor who has
helped me develop my fighting skills from those of a little
sissy girl to a "panther," (my nickname for the last few
years).
I earned my black belt in just 3-1/2 years, while it takes
the average person 5-6 years or more.
In my classes, I am the only woman, going head to head
with men who outweigh me by 60-115 pounds and outrank me by
2-5 degrees of black belt. Have I gotten sprains, bruises
and black eyes? Sure. I have a black eye right now as a
matter of fact. (The guy that gave it to me has a sore
nose, a fat lip and bruised rib.)
But every day of every week, I'm a martial artist--
practicing my art, going to classes and cross training
(running and lifting weights).
Why? Because it's a life long commitment. I didn't start
karate to get a black belt. I instead wanted to BE a black
belt.
And as a result, I am enjoying a level of fitness that
I've never had in my LIFE, even in my teens or 20's.
My mind is sharp and focused.
My reflexes are lightning fast--I don't drop things
anymore because I catch them in mid air while they're
falling.
Most importantly, I know I can defend my life or the lives
of my loved ones if the time ever came.
I wouldn't trade that for all the money in the world--it's
priceless.
Eating healthy is like martial arts.
And if you allow excuses like "It's too much work" or "I
can't say no to processed or fast food" to enter your mind,
you're done before you start.
If you're only interested in achieving some temporary goal
(like looking better for a wedding or high school reunion),
don't even bother. Go get some Slim Fast instead.
But if you want to feel great and stay at a normal
bodyweight for LIFE, if you want to BE a healthy person,
let me be your master instructor.
Great Taste No Pain is not a diet. There are plenty of
those around and they all compromise your health.
Instead, like karate, GTNP is an "art"--the art of eating
to keep your body alkaline and alive longer.
Our bodies are alkaline by design and must stay alkaline
to be healthy. When we're acidic, that's when
inflammation, sickness, obesity and disease occur.
With GTNP, I'll show you how to enjoy delicious alkaline
foods that will soon become your all time favorites.
I'll teach you how to correctly combine foods to keep the
acid low in your stomach, help your foods digest like they
should and as a result, help you be better nourished (so
your body won't crave foods constantly).
I'll guide you in eliminating your digestive
problems...and many other health maladies that you probably
don't even realize are caused by your diet.
I'll even train you to know what to order in a restaurant
to make sure you stay pain-free and feeling good.
And when you commit to this "art," you can look forward to
feeling great, taking less or no medications, staying at
your comfortable body weight and enjoying a longer, pain-
free life.
As that famous credit card commercial says, "That's
priceless."
PS: Helen said goodbye to 30 years of stomach problems:
*******************
Sherry,
I have had stomach problems for thirty years, since I was
in my early twenties. I have been hospitalized numerous
times.
I have been diagnosed with Gastritis, IBS, Hiatal Hernia
and Barret's Esophagus. I have been on every type of
medication available to no avail.
A few years ago I had a hiatal hernia repaired and had
fundoplication to stop the acid reflux. These surgeries
helped for a while, but the acid in my stomach got worse
over time.
The pain and diarrhea had gotten so bad that I was only
eating soup. That's when I found your plan--when I Googled
"Gastritis."
I printed the free plan and showed it to my husband. We
decided to try it for seven days and it was great. I have
not taken any stomach medicine or had diarrhea since we
started.
I ordered your complete plan and we love the recipes. The
eggplant parmesan is wonderful.
