On Sunday, while looking at an advertisement circular for
our local members-only wholesale club, I skimmed over food
coupons, patio furniture ads, then I saw a full page
article with the headline:
"Summer Fruit 5 Ways"
Because, of course, they want to sell more fruit, which is
coming into season.
I immediately thought that it's a darn good thing the
store also sells antacids in bulk, because people are going
to need them if they follow this advice...
4 of their 5 suggestions would send many an unwitting
fruit-eater into writhing gut pain or make them feel like a
fire breathing dragon (or both).
For instance, one of the items suggested that sliced
grapes be added to a certain "boring" dish to make the meal
"sing."
Tell you what--after eating that, it will be their
backsides that will be singing.
And their stomachs will be screaming.
And most people don't realize this.
So they see these recipes, try their horrible suggestions
for eating fruit, end up in agony, then proclaim that
"fruit doesn't agree with them."
And NOTHING could be farther from the truth.
Now, the medical community is just as clueless when it
comes to eating fruit. They frequently tell people with
digestive challenges to stay away from it.
My doctor told me to avoid fruit and raw vegetables 17
years ago when I was told I had IBS.
Ridiculous advice. Good thing I ignored it.
Fruit is the most perfect food in existence.
Telling someone not to eat fruit is like telling them not
to breathe fresh air.
The key is, you need to eat it in the way that your body
can use it and benefit from it.
Like ALL foods that you eat, fruit needs to be eaten at
the right times with the correct other foods.
When you eat fruit how I teach you, you don't have pain.
When you eat fruit how I teach you, you don't have burning.
Instead, you feel GREAT -- light and energized.
When you eat fruit how I teach you, you can enjoy all of
fruit's delicious juicy sweetness without flying into the
bathroom later on.
You'll see that you can enjoy fruit at many different
times during the day, too. Even if you have not been able
to comfortably eat fruit without agony for many years.
And like I did 17 years ago, you can prove your doctor
wrong. I eat fruit every single day without pain, and so
do the tens of thousands of others who eat fruit the way I
teach them how in Great Taste No Pain.
