The cheap solution to chronic diarrhea

I don't watch a lot of TV, but I do love to laugh, whether
I'm watching a movie, a sporting event or even a commercial.

There are a lot of funny commercials for diarrhea
medicines.  I remember one where it showed a guy having an
attack while commuting to the office with his coworkers.
They had to make a bunch of stops at gas stations along the
way and he would fly into the bathroom, squeezing his legs
together as he moved.  It was very funny.

But in truth, diarrhea is no laughing matter.

Everyone has acute diarrhea once in a while, usually
lasting a couple days.  Acute diarrhea is typically caused
by a bacterial or viral infection of some type.  Traveler's
diarrhea and a "stomach bug" are good examples.

In those cases, the diarrhea is actually a good thing
because it means your body is purging itself of the
"foreign invader" and protecting you.

But chronic diarrhea is another story.

Chronic diarrhea is diarrhea lasting more than a few days
or occurring on a regular basis.  You might also develop
bloating, bloody stools, fever, dehydration or hemorrhoids
with it.

It's your body telling you something is very, very wrong.

Now, chronic diarrhea can be a symptom of an underlying
condition like Crohn's disease, Celiac disease or colitis.

But by far the most common cause of chronic diarrhea is
what you eat.

Everything you put in your mouth has a direct effect on
what comes out and how it comes out, whether it's a normal,
healthy bowel movement or whether you desperately fly to
the bathroom with your legs squeezed together.

When you eat foods that are acid-forming to your body, you
put your entire digestive tract into a stressed state.

Your stomach churns and secretes tons of acid trying to
digest what you've just swallowed, but since it's so
difficult for your stomach to break down those kinds of
foods, it can't do a good job.

Then your small intestine tries like heck to absorb
nutrients from the acidy mess it just inherited from your
stomach, but the nutrients (if any) have been destroyed.

By the time your wastes reach the colon (large intestine)
they are loaded with toxins and not digested like they
should be.  So of course you can't expect the "grand
finale" of digestion--your bowel movement--to be normal.

That's like washing your windows with spray paint and
expecting to see out of them.

To keep things running smoothly on your bottom end, you
have to start at the top (what you put in your mouth).

It's essential to eat foods that are alkalizing to your
body, and make sure that all of your foods are correctly
combined to minimize acid.

PS:  Jeannette no longer has diarrhea 20-30 times a day:

*******************

Hi Sherry:

I did send you a letter about my recovery so this is an
update.

I am no longer taking Imodium which I was previously
taking at the rate of 8 daily in order to try and control
diarrhea that was occurring 20-30 times a day.  I was in a
constant state of dehydration and went into deep shock
several times necessitating overnight trips to the ER room.

I have IBS following colon cancer surgery that took a good
part of the colon.  Multiple trips to many specialists,
gastroenterologists, and even the Mayo Clinic did no good.

It was a miracle to find your plan and books on the
internet.  I have been following your plan for a month and
am happy to report that my restroom visits have been
reduced to about 3 a day with little or no diarrhea.

I am able to go out and be a human being again so I thank
you for all your efforts and research.

You are doing a terrific job of helping those of us who
have been left in the dust by the medical community.

Jeanette
