Dear Sherry,
Thank you so much for supplying the information that
allowed me to bring my life back to normal.
I started having excessive bleeding from my large
intestine when I was 16. Farm-raised and supposedly fed
garden fresh vegetables and free range protein, I like the
majority of Canadians and Americans thought I was eating
correctly...especially on those days when Mom would make
homemade bread and we would smother it in Rogers syrup.
Yum!
The bleeding was only occasional but scary for a teenager
and so much blood loss. This continued throughout my 20's
with many scopes being done and always being told by the
medical profession that there was something wrong with my
ovaries!
They actually told me I would only have a 50% chance of
ever becoming pregnant. Ironically, I later found out that
I was about 3 weeks pregnant when they told me that!
By three weeks into my pregnancy I could barely stand the
pain of the elastic on my underwear and belts of any kind
disappeared from my closet for life. I had constant pain in
my tummy with a totally normal pregnancy.
After the birth of our second child and continuing bouts
of bleeding, fainting from the pain, and basically wearing
"sacks" for clothing, the medical 'experts' decided at age
38 to give me a hysterectomy because of course, the pain
had to be in my reproductive system.
You already know the results right? The pain and
occasional bleeding flushes continued.
One morning at age 47 I went to the bathroom and instantly
lost over 2/3 of my total blood in one fell swoop! You bet
I hit the floor, scared the <$@#*& out of my husband who
rushed me to hospital where they took out 2/3 of my large
intestine and told me I was lucky I wasn't on the street
somewhere or I would never have made it. They said I had
the intestine of an 80 year old it was so full of
diverticulitis.
The ONLY thing the surgeon recommended to me was to take
Metamucil to give me some form for the constant diarrhea.
So for the last 11 years that's what I was doing until one
day I just typed in diverticulitis and there was your site.
That was 3 months ago.
I used to be so excited when I would have what I called a
close to normal bowel movement and the only thing I had
figured out was it usually happened after a simple pasta
meal. Now of course I know why...because it was correctly

All told I have had approximately 10 surgeries (including
day scopes) and now I am so excited to say I have a normal
bowel movement once or twice a day, have lost 9 pounds and
feel great every day.
My husband, also farm-raised, had over 1/2 of his stomach
removed from ulcers when he was 21! He has a term for
eating from your program...he calls it feeling "neutral"
which is a great term because there is no burping, no gas,
no smell, no tummy ache, no saying as you find the nearest
sofa, "Gosh, I wish I wouldn't have eaten that!"
