Shield probiotic formula that are worth sharing with

Can't swallow it
============
Q: I can't swallow capsules. Can I open up a Super
Shield and dump it into a beverage or food?
A: Yes. Super Shield capsules may be opened and the
contents mixed into a room-temperature beverage or food.
(Many people find this is the best way to give probiotics
to children.)
Note that by doing this, you are losing the benefit of the
enteric coating on each capsule (which ensures that all of
the friendly bacteria reach your intestines unharmed by
stomach acids). However, many of the research-grade
probiotic strains in Super Shield are naturally resistant
to stomach acids, so your body will still reap the benefits
without the protection of the capsule.

Bacteria fighting each other?

Q: My gastroenterologist says single strain probiotic
supplements work better because too many strains fight with
each other. Is that true?
A: No, it's not true. Your intestines are home to 500
different species of bacteria (both good and bad) and each
strain carries out a unique function. So it's essential to
introduce as many different good bacteria into your system
as you can to ensure your body is benefiting as much as
possible.
The only "fighting" that occurs between bacteria is when
good bacteria try to overcome the bad bacteria in your
system by competing with them for nutrients and for space
on your intestinal walls.

Super Shield and digestive enzymes

Q: If I take Super Shield, do I need to take digestive
enzymes?
A: Unless someone already has a shortage of digestive
enzymes, it is not necessary to take enzyme supplements

and enzymes. Our digestive enzymes help probiotics work
better. And probiotics help digestion to be accomplished
better, which can in turn conserve our precious natural

Q: I have Celiac disease and have to avoid gluten. I'm
wondering if the FOS (Fructo-oligosaccharides) you use in
Super Shield are derived from barley (because barley has
gluten in it).
A: The FOS in Super Shield come from Jerusalem
artichokes, so they are entirely gluten-free.

How long do they last?

Q: How long does a bottle of Super Shield last, and how
often is it manufactured?
A: Super Shield has a shelf life of 36 months, and is
manufactured every 60-90 days. So you can be assured of
7.25 billion CFUs of fresh, viable bacteria in every capsule.
...And the biggest question of all:

The gel pack was warm!

Q: When I received my bottle of Super Shield, the gel
pack in the package was warm (or hot). Are the Super
Shield capsules still good?
A: YES!
They are perfectly fine as long as they are not exposed to
temperatures over 80 degrees for weeks on end.
The Glacier Ice gel pack is NOT supposed to stay frozen.
If it did, it would freeze the bacteria and they would die.
The gel pack is a special 30+ degree formula that keeps the
contents cool (not frozen) for 48-72 hours.
We ship them cool because it's the best thing to do, NOT
because they need it for the journey from our refrigerated
storage to your door. They don't. We ship them insulated
because it simply ensures maximum potency.
We do recommend that you refrigerate them once you receive
them (and keep them refrigerated)--this will help ensure
