Most people with acid reflux are used to the heartburn,
feeling of acid rising up in their throats and sour burps.
But those aren't the only symptoms. Sometimes acid reflux
can have other, seemingly unrelated symptoms like dry
cough, asthma symptoms, or trouble swallowing.
Or worse yet, chest pain and feeling like you're having a
heart attack.
That's what happened to Denise.
She had frightening experiences in both thinking she was
having a heart attack AND from the medications she was
given afterward.
Here's her story:
*******************
Dear Sherry,
I was diagnosed with acid reflux and a spastic esophagus
several years ago after I started to black out and have
terrible pains in my chest. The doctor prescribed
medication and I have been on 40mg of Nexium for several
years.
I decided to reduce the medication to 20 mg of Omeprazole
because I didn't think the Nexium was good for me. I was
still suffering from bloating, gas and discomfort, as well
as weight gain when I didn't even eat that much.
I ended up in the ER thinking I was having a heart attack
after my heart started going crazy and I felt like I was
going to faint. That scared the daylights out of me, but
after 4 days in the hospital all the tests showed my heart
was fine. Stress and acid reflux, they said.
Two weeks ago today I began having terrible stabbing pains
in my lower left side. This kept me up all night and the
next day during work I was in such pain that I called my
doctor. I had already self diagnosed with what pointed to
diverticulitis after researching my symptoms. The doctor
confirmed my diagnosis and put me on Flagyl and Cipro for
10 days.
After two days of taking that horrible medication I went
back to see him and begged him to take me off the stuff. I
was experiencing terrible side effects. He insisted I stay
on it otherwise, I could get c. diff.
(Note: Clostridium difficile, or "C. diff," is a bacteria
that can cause symptoms ranging from diarrhea to life-
threatening inflammation of the colon.)
He frightened me enough to stay on it. I was mentally
confused, SHOULD NOT HAVE BEEN DRIVING, nauseated, had a
nasty metallic taste in my mouth and listless. So, so
sick. I finally refused to take any more of the Flagyl
after 7 days and it has taken me 5 days to recover from the
side effects of this drug.
Which brings me to you.
During the time I was going through all this, I began
researching what my diet should be to help me through all
this. I found your website
- http://www.greattastenopain.com/great.asp
and no negative reviews and decided to download your 4 day
plan. After all, the doctor told me I could eat anything
except tomatoes and fruit juice.
Everything you said made sense and after reading all the
wonderful testimonials, I couldn't wait to get the whole
program. You see, this was a MAJOR wake up call for me, a
life changing experience. I NEVER, EVER want to go through
this again.
I have followed your plan to the letter, and have stopped
taking my acid reducing medication and feel much better. I
began the Super Shield probiotic about 4 days ago and am
enjoying a calm digestive process.
I am also losing weight! I have lost 6 pounds in the last
week and am eating better than I ever thought I could!
You are a lifesaver and a blessing sent from God. You are
not overpriced, especially considering all the money I have
spent on medication, doctor's visits and so forth.
I will stay on your plan forever and even have my husband
and 16 year old daughter following the plan. They see me
happy, looking forward to eating without worrying about
pain and they are amazed at how fast the weight is coming
off.
Thank you, thank you, thank you.

Denise has experienced what a difference it can make to
eat foods that digest easily together, with no
overproduction of acid.
The manual "How To End Stomach Pain Forever, Even If Your
MD Says, 'No Way!'" teaches you the sound science behind
correctly combining your foods together and why it works so
darn well.
It also shows you the few simple principles you need to
know to make sure all of your meals are good combinations
that will leave you feeling great (and not reaching for
purple or any other colored pills).
After several years of acid reflux, purple pills and
eventually diverticulitis, Denise is now symptom and
medication-free.
Hi from Dee 'down under' in Australia. I accidentally
stumbled across your website (looking for articles on
bloating/gas etc) and boy am I glad I did!
I downloaded your 4-day plan - and already I feel SO MUCH
BETTER it is unbelievable!
I have tossed my Nexium, Zantac pills in the bin - and
hope I never need to use them again.
I must confess I haven't stuck strictly to the plan, but
despite a couple of diversions, I still feel a whole lot
better, and my previous 'pregnant' stomach has all but
disappeared.
I have ordered your books - and can't wait for them to
arrive.
I have always said the Pharmaceutical/Medical fraternity
are intent on 'bandaid' solutions to all our health
problems. As some one very wisely once said "you are what
you eat."
It is a pity the drug companies make so much money, out of
so much misery.
Thanks from the bottom of my heart. You are an
inspiration to us all.
