By far one of the most common digestive complaints I'm
asked about is diverticulitis.
For those who aren't sure what it is, diverticulitis
starts out as diverticulosis. Diverticulosis results from
wastes that build up along the colon wall and cause it to
weaken and form "pouches."
When the pouches become infected and inflamed they turn
into diverticulitis.
Both are the result of your food choices--eating too many
acid-forming foods and acid-forming food combinations that
the stomach can't digest completely.
Now, the most well-known symptom that people with
diverticulitis get is gut pain.
I'm talking pain that makes you curl up into the fetal
position or drop down to your knees and beg to be put out
of your misery.
Many have told me that it's far worse than childbirth or
kidney stones.
So when people with diverticulitis see their attacks
subside and disappear after they start eating a correctly
combined, more alkaline diet like I teach in Great Taste No
Pain, they're very grateful and relieved.

But what they might not realize is that pain relief is
just the tip of the iceberg.
You see, if your diverticulitis attacks are frequent, or
you develop an abscess or other complication, you could
have some or all of your colon surgically removed (called a
colon resection).
As if that weren't bad enough, the outlook AFTER a colon
resection isn't rosy.
First of all, if you don't change how you eat, the
diverticulitis can recur in the remaining parts of your
colon. That might mean having even more taken out.
And depending on how much of your colon is taken out, it
may be necessary to get a colostomy. This is where a hole
is created in your abdomen and the end of what's left of
your colon is surgically attached to that hole. You then
wear a bag glued over the hole to catch feces that can leak
out 24/7.
So it's understandable that people with diverticulitis
want to avoid surgery at ALL cost.
Great Taste No Pain helped Joanne do just that.
She was facing devastating surgery number 2--removal of
what was left of her colon. But when she began following
my advice, a miracle occurred:

Sherry:
I've been on your Great Taste No Pain plan for three
months now.
I've had severe diverticulitis. I had a bad attack again,
ending up in the hospital. My catscan showed that I needed
the rest of my colon removed (I've already had 2 1/2 ft
removed due to diverticulitis before).
I was devastated, so I know God had a divine hand in
directing me to get on line and find your webpage and
books.
Since I've been on your plan, I feel great and I've got
lots more energy now. But the best thing is when I went to
the doctor--I told them about the plan I was on and that I
am sure its working, but the doctor wanted to scope me
again, so I scheduled it.
The results were outstanding! I was afraid they would say
I still needed the surgery, but the doctor said he didn't
see any diverticulitis! (On the previous catscan there was
terrible diverticulosis and diverticulitis.)
You are doing a great job. Thank you Sherry and God bless
you for the help you have given to all of us.

PS: Tina saw what GTNP does, especially when she went OFF
the plan:

Well, Sherry, I was skeptical - until I noticed a drastic
difference.
My metal-mouth went away, my stomach wasn't on fire after
every meal anymore, and I really FELT better.
Then I went back to my old ways & noticed again the
negative effects - only this time I was EDUCATED &
UNDERSTOOD what was going on in my body!
Our bodies need a proper PH balance to be healthy & feel
good! It's a Minor life transition to prevent Major
problems from occurring.
